| Transcription of Marcel Duchamp's Etant-Donnees.
The image on the 20'x42' mirror consists of two separate parts. It is the outline of a woman depicted in an ambiguous pose of either great pleasure or pain. The outline has been duplicated, flipped horizontally and overlaps slightly with the other.
It is suggested that the female lying prostrate in Etant-Donnees is Duchamp's female alter ego. His work can only be viewed through two spyholes in a massive wooden door, thereby making the viewer a voyeur.
I have transcribed this involuntary partaking and the alter ego of Duchamp's work by forcing the viewer to see himself within the two females. The mirror is in a private collection and not for sale.
